Kelsey Whitaker

Kelsey Whitaker has enjoyed working with horses for most of her life.  After seeing an ad for riding lessons in the newspaper when she was 14 years old, Kelsey began riding and showing shortly after.  She competed in the hunter and jumper ring and also gained valuable experience by bringing along young horses. At age 17, Kelsey started teaching Pony Club where she provided novice equestrians with riding instruction, as well as lessons in horse management and care.

Kelsey has coached many young riders to provincial championships in hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. She particularly enjoys the process of developing strong relationships between the young riders and their horses and helping her students achieve their goals. Kelsey has her degree in Early Childhood Development.

Kelsey worked with the Chad family from 2005-2009 as the trainer and manager at Stone Ridge in Calgary, Alberta. During this time she helped Bretton and Kara Chad advance from showing in the Walk/Trot divisions to winning in Pony Hunter, Junior Hunter, Equitation, and Jumper classes. With her help and guidance, the girls earned numerous championships at horse shows across Canada and the United States. The solid foundation and experience they received from Kelsey early in their training has enabled both riders to continue to excel in their show jumping careers to compete at the international grand prix level.

Trained with from 2005 โ€“ 2012.
